What We Do

Our Goal is to make a difference in our community by improving the lives of children and seniors.

We support Youth KIWIN’S and Key Clubs in our three High Schools and they, in addition to working on their own service projects, also help our club in many of our service projects:

Current Service Projects

• Supporting local food pantries.
• Supporting Special Needs kids by supplying breakfast at the annual Aut2run fundraiser.
• Helping with VIP Soccer and Basketball sporting events.
• Supporting kidSTREAM, the new Children’s Museum in Camarillo, by funding children’s events, supplying books and purchasing Magic Spun Chairs that especially help children suffering from Autism. We are currently looking into other ways we can support this very special museum.
• Shelter Care Resources – stuffing holiday stockings for homeless families.
• VC Action – donate school supplies and backpacks for needy families in Ventura County.
• James Storehouse – Donate refurbished bikes, helmets, blankets and clothes for foster children.
• Help hosting a holiday party for Southern California deaf children.
• Prom parties – we donate to each of the Camarillo High Schools to hold their after-Prom party.
• Food Share – we donate each year to help feed the areas needy families.
• Child Safety Car Seat stickers – we attend local community events and pass out car seat stickers to young families. These stickers contain information about their children in case there is an accident.

Current Fundraising Activities

• Peanut sales to collect donations for our Foundation. Support from local businesses is always welcome.
• Painting with a Purpose. This is a fun and popular event every year. Help us raise funds while creating your own masterpiece and even enjoying a glass of wine or beer.
• Breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s. Join us for pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and OJ.
• Golf Tournament. Join us for a fun day on the links. Breakfast, lunch and raffle included.
• Bunco – another popular event. Spend an afternoon rolling dice and making money.

Our club is a member of the Chamber of Commerce. As a member, you have access to all Chamber events for networking. We therefore offer corporate membership as well as individual memberships. We hold 5:30pm evening meetings at local restaurants on every Tuesday of the month (except the 2nd Tuesday.)

Kiwanis Key Club and KIWINS Sponsor

Our Kiwanis club brings treats and recognizes, supports and encourages high school students, through mentorship, chaperoning and guidance to empower the great leaders of the future. We support Key Club and KIWINS service projects, facilitate Key Club meetings and train leadership teams. We sponsor the following Kiwanis Key clubs:

• Key Club, Rio Mesa High School, Camarillo, CA
• KIWINS, Adolfo Camarillo High School, Camarillo, CA
• KIWINS, Rancho Campana High School, Camarillo, CA

Kiwanis Builders Club Sponsor

Our Kiwanis club brings treats and recognizes, supports and encourages the kids, through example, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We support Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships. We sponsor the following Kiwanis Builders clubs:

• Channel Islands University Prep, Camarillo, CA
